What helps
A useful first message.
- The systems you are running now — including the spreadsheets and the tools nobody officially chose.
- The thing that has become difficult. Usually this is a question that takes too long to answer, or a change that costs more than it should.
- Whether anything is fixed: a date, a platform you are committed to, a regulation you operate under.
- Who inside the business would have to be involved for a decision to be made.
What happens next
Three steps, and none of them is a sales call.
- First
A reply within two business days, from someone who has read what you sent, not an acknowledgement of receipt.
- Then
A conversation about what you have and what it would take. Where the honest answer is that an engagement is not the right move, that is said in this conversation rather than three invoices later.
- If it goes further
A written scope naming what gets built, what it will not do, and how completion is verified. Work begins from that document.
Ownership
What you keep, stated before you ask.
- Clients hold their own domain, their own payment account, and their own cloud accounts wherever practical.
- The firm never becomes the merchant of record and never holds client funds.
- Source code and content are delivered in a form the client owns outright, together with the full record of how it changed.
